Breathing New Life into Bespoke Copper Tables at The Swigg

At The BOX Furniture, we believe that great furniture deserves a second life.

With the right care, craftsmanship and attention to detail, well-made pieces can be restored to their former glory rather than replaced.

Recently, we had the pleasure of refinishing a set of bespoke copper tables for our friends at The Swigg. These striking tables are a key part of the venue’s character, but after heavy use, the surfaces had begun to lose their shine and the protective lacquer had worn down.

Our restoration process began with carefully buffing the copper to remove marks, oxidisation and the remains of the old lacquer. This step revealed the natural beauty of the metal beneath and created a smooth, even base for the next stage. We then applied a fresh protective lacquer, sealing the surface and restoring the rich, reflective finish that copper is known for.

The transformation was immediate. The tables once again look brand new, with their patina brought back to life and a durable finish ready to withstand daily use. Most importantly, the original character of each bespoke piece has been preserved.

Projects like this are a great reminder that quality furniture is always worth restoring. Not only is refinishing more sustainable than replacement, it also allows unique, well-crafted pieces to continue telling their story for years to come.
