Terms of Service

Welcome to The Box Furniture Ltd. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern purchases made on our website theboxfurniture.co.uk. By placing an order, you agree to these Terms, so please read them carefully.

1. About Our Products

  • All items are handmade, often using reclaimed or natural materials. Variations in colour, size, finish, or grain are normal and add to their character.
  • Stock is subject to availability. If we cannot fulfil your order, we will contact you promptly with alternatives or a refund.
  • Clearance and ex-display items are sold as seen and are non-returnable.

2. Prices and Payment

  • Prices are in GBP and exclude delivery (calculated at checkout). We are not VAT registered.
  • Payment must be made in full before dispatch. We use secure third-party processors (e.g. Shopify). We do not store card details.
  • If there’s a pricing or product error, we may cancel and refund your order.

3. Orders

  • You’ll receive an email acknowledging your order. This is not acceptance — your order is only confirmed once dispatched.
  • If you need to cancel, contact us before dispatch. After that, our returns policy applies.
  • We may cancel an order if stock is unavailable, there’s an error, or the order appears suspicious.

4. Delivery

  • Delivery is available to the UK mainland. Outside this area, contact us for a quote.
  • Stock items are usually dispatched within 7 days. Made-to-order items may take longer. Delivery times are estimates only.
  • Deliveries are kerbside only and require a signature. You are responsible for moving items into your property.
  • Some products require assembly. We are not responsible for injury or damage caused by incorrect assembly.

5. Returns and Refunds

  • You may return items within 14 days of delivery under the Consumer Contracts Regulations, provided they are unused and in original condition/packaging.
  • You are responsible for return shipping unless the item is faulty or incorrect.
  • Refunds are issued within 14 business days of receiving returned goods.
  • Custom-made or personalised items (e.g. cut-to-size or stained finishes) are non-returnable unless faulty.
  • Reclaimed timber naturally features marks such as cracks, splits, dents, paint, or branding — these are not defects.

6. Lifetime Guarantee

We offer a Lifetime Guarantee against manufacturing faults in the metal frame and timber tops (excluding outdoor furniture).

Covered: defects caused by workmanship or materials.
Not covered: wear and tear, natural wood movement, scratches, stains, pet damage, poor maintenance, or unauthorised repairs.

The guarantee is valid for the original purchaser only. Proof of purchase and photos may be required. You may need to return the item for inspection.

7. Liability

  • We are not responsible for indirect losses (e.g. loss of income, inconvenience).
  • Our total liability is limited to the price you paid for the product.
  • Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any rights you have under consumer law.

8. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
