Bespoke Zinc Bar Tops and Ash Wood Tables Designed with Architect Niall Gallacher

We’re proud to congratulate The Shed on being named number 39 in the UK Top 100 Restaurants for 2026. It’s fantastic to see a Swansea restaurant gaining national recognition, especially one so committed to Welsh food and local produce.

At The BOX Furniture, we were commissioned to manufacture and install the interior furniture and fittings for The Shed, working closely with architect Niall Gallacher to bring his design vision to life. The brief was clear: create a space that feels honest, refined and rooted in its surroundings — much like the food served by head chef and owner Jonathan Woolway and his team.

Zinc Bar Tops – Built to Last

A standout feature of the restaurant is the bespoke zinc bar tops. Zinc offers a natural, living finish that develops character over time, making it ideal for a busy hospitality setting. Each bar surface was fabricated and fitted by our team, designed not only to look striking but to withstand the demands of a high-end Swansea restaurant environment.

Solid Ash Wood Tables

Complementing the zinc are custom-built ash wood tables, manufactured in our South Wales workshop. Ash was selected for its durability and subtle grain, providing warmth and balance to the metal elements within the space. The result is a cohesive interior that feels modern yet welcoming — perfectly aligned with Niall Gallacher’s architectural concept.
